No perfect people... |
For everyone with a much-loved, significant other, Valentine’s Day is a wonderful time to honor, celebrate them and give thanks to the Lord for the blessing of having them in our lives. If that’s you, I pray Valentine’s Day 2020 is full of joy for you and your sweetheart! The reality is, there are many who are without their sweethearts and unable to celebrate this special day with them. There is an abundance of reasons for this, and I'm sure you can imagine many of them. For those who don’t have a designated Valentine, I invite you to share the holiday with the best Valentine of all, the Lord Jesus Christ! Last year, I watched a documentary, the story of a Messianic Jew, who’d survived the Holocaust. Her children had relocated to Israel. When her husband passed, her children and grandchildren asked if she would like to leave her home in Europe and move with them to Israel. She was the last one of her family living in her little village. Wouldn’t she be lonely? With a warm smile, she shook her head and said, “Oh no! You see, every room, every corner, is filled with the presence of our sweet, Lord Jesus. With Him, I’m never lonely, at all!” The more space we give our Lord, the greater His presence will be in our lives, and all the blessings His presence provides. I pray your Valentine’s Day 2020 is heavily drenched in the presence of our Lord Jesus and filled with the greatest of joys that only He can give. “For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will take me in.” Psalm 27:10 KJV
